2020 put the majority of weddings to a complete standstill - but this didn't stop businesses in the wedding industry from giving back to couples in creative ways.
The Hitched 2020 Couples' Champions Award recognises and rewards wedding businesses that went out of their way and went the extra mile for couples during the Coronavirus pandemic.
And we WON!!
Hundreds of wedding venues, caterers, photographers and celebrants all entered the competition to have their amazing work acknowledged.
We were recognised for our 8 part IGTV video series "Your Wedding Rescheduled: COVID-19"
This video series was created to help couples through the difficult process of rescheduling their wedding by speaking with businesses in the wedding industry and getting their expert insight into common issues the couples may come across.
Some great ideas that came out of this were venues offering "just-in-case" dates in the event that the couples new date wouldn't be able to go ahead. It would later become clear that these "just-in-case" dates would come in handy for the majority of couples.
Other suppliers highlighted that flower choices may have to change if you're changing from a summer to a winter wedding, or restrictions may change if you change venues.
Not only did this video series present some great tips for couples who were rescheduling their wedding, but it also provided some amazing exposure for the wedding businesses themselves. We had wedding venues come back to us and tell us they had couples book off the back of the video series!
We were so happy to be recognised by Hitched and named the 2020 Couples' Champion! And want to congratulate all the other winners; you can see a list of the winners here.
